Happy Days Are Here Again

According to the calendar, spring began in March. We've still got snow on the ground, BUT the driveway is clear, so the girls have been riding their bikes in circles and drawing lots of pictures with sidewalk chalk.

I outline their bodies on the ground, and they color them in.

Look at what my little eye spied . . .

. . . a bud on the lilac tree! Maybe the calendar is right. Spring IS here!

On second thought . . .
something tells me we won't be hunting Easter eggs in the backyard this year.

Dinner last night: homemade chicken noodle soup, cornbread muffins

I love kids art. Hopefully spring hurries up for you. I love lilacs, I can't wait to see your pictures when they flowers finally bloom.

That is why I hate spring. We are supposed to act all grateful that the temperature actually cleared 50 degrees and yet there is still snow on the ground! It is spring it is supposed to start getting warm.
And also because Monday was in the 80's and today is rainy, wet and bitterly cold.
But on the up side your girls are cute :)

That much snow still on the ground, and they are in shorts!

This is the first week here that it has really felt like spring. We did sidewalk chalk in the driveway as well!

I hope it is really there. Sometimes I wonder if it is here.

Despite the snow on the ground still those pics are cute and the girls looked like they had fun outdoors.

Is she in shorts????? It's still 80 degrees out tonight and I just had to throw on a jacket to go walk my dog. I would never make it in Alaska.

The eggs would be easy to spot in the snow.

It must be warm out or your children are as tough as mine ;)

I think that we may have more snow than you... but happily it is raining today and I am hoping that it is going to take a bunch of it away.

Make it a great day!

We don't have snow on the ground anymore but we were still on the driveway the other day with chalk, bubbles and bikes. It was great to get some fresh air and sunshine, even if it was chillier than I would like.

I don't know. Think how much fun it could be watching them try to find undyed eggs in all that snow!

What else would you wear but shorts, when it's a stifling 48 degrees outside?

Every year, things start blooming around here and looking all pretty, then a frost comes in and kills it! Our snow is gone but we're having storms every couple of days. I guess that's part of spring in Tennessee...tornado time!

Never would have thought to outline my kids bodies with chalk! LOL! Great idea Kim - I think we may have to do that today!
