Walk in the Rain

It's been unusually wet and chilly this summer. IN ALASKA, that is. I hear that temperatures are hellish in the rest of the country. Come take a stroll with me in the woods around my house and you'll cool off real fast.

The elderberries are still bright red, but starting to shrivel.

The forest floor is covered in soggy moss, ferns, and . . .

 . . . mushrooms. HUGE mushrooms.
Mushrooms that are bigger than my dainty clown foot.

Dinner last night: spaghetti and meatballs, green salad

It's been HOT! here the last little while, but today looks exactly like your picturs. Only not as pretty. I love the first pic.
We had spaghetti and meatballs last night too!
Only if you ask the kids, we had pizghetti (Mater) or mazghetti (Tinkerbell)

It has been hot, but it just suddenly cooled down. It was 50 degrees overnight.

Those woods are gorgeous. I'd love to come walk around them.

What you are experiencing now will be the depth of my winter. Now go inside your house and turn your heater up to 110 and make sure that there's plenty of water so it's nice and humid. Then you can experience my world. I do not suggest doing so without medical attention ready.

Not that jealousy is a character trait that I encourage...but...
Jealous! Oh, I love where you live!

That looks so refreshing! We finally did get some rain and sprouted mushrooms. It doesn't take much.
