Baby Fever

If there's a negative to living in Alaska, 'twould be the isolation. We're just so darn far away from family and friends. You can imagine the excitement around here when we discovered that my husband's younger sister was planning a visit from Oregon. She had a baby EIGHT MONTHS AGO whom we hadn't yet met.

Brayden, the Beautiful Bouncing Baby Boy

My sister-in-law was rather horrified at the passion my twin daughters displayed toward her son. They would not let him out of their sight. They would not stop talking to him. They would not stop pressing toys into his hand. They would not stop slipping goldfish crackers into his mouth.

They would NOT stop touching him.

Brayden enjoyed the attention, but his poor mom was a nervous wreck by the time she left our house. It's not easy guarding your treasure from a pair of 4-year-old demented pirates.

Dinner last night: barbecue steak, baked potato, steamed green beans

Oh, he is so cute. But this is the precise reason I keep my kids away from babies.

I wouldn't blame them. He is adorable.

I doubt that has much to do with Alaska! my sister had a baby last August that I have yet to see. She lives in Massachusetts and I live in Arkansas.

My SIL had a baby almost two years ago that I haven't met yet either. She lives in Utah. (To my credit, I was in Utah two months ago and tried to meet up w/ her, but she couldn't.) Sometiems it's jsut hard to meet up w/ people!

I now also have to protect the babies from my four year olds. Wasn't it just yesterday I had to protect my babies?

My girls go nuts over babies. Lately when we go to the pool I've had to say "what's the rule if we see a baby?" Answer: "No splashing and no touching."

Oh my goodness. That is one BEAUTIFUL baby!

I can see why your girls couldn't keep their hands off him. I probably couldn't either!
