If you hang around this blog long enough, you're going to hear about moose. A moose highway happens to run behind our house, and the skinny-legged twig eaters are constantly zipping past our family room. I knew we had a problem when, a few days after moving into our home, I was unpacking a box in the living room and heard a slow clop clop clop coming from outside. What the Sam Hill? Is someone riding their horse up my driveway? A mother moose and her calf meandered over to the large picture window and shot me the evil eye, then hung out ON THE DECK until they were good and ready to move on. I think they were sending me a message, and it wasn't Welcome to the Neighborhood.
They are so common around here that I honestly don't even think to document most of the moose sightings. If I did, I'd be spending all my days photographing the moose eating our lilac bush or the moose trying to hide behind a skinny birch tree or the moose who gave birth in our yard or the moose napping underneath the girls' swingset. Frankly, they don't impress me. In fact, they annoy me.
Dinner last night: Italian sausage soup with cheese tortellini, biscuits

Hopefully they don't stink like the skunk who seems to be taking up residence around my house. At least my skunk can't kill you. Unless I die from the horrible odor.
I have to admit I'm with your girls on this one. I just LOOVE your moose posts and pictures! They are much more interesting and photogenic than the squirrels who treat my flowers and vegetables like their own personal buffet.
Well, I think I'd take the moose over the stinkbug infestation where I live. But that's just me.
Maybe I'm more like your girls...I would be delighted to see moose (meese?), even everyday. We see cottontail rabbits and squirrels and cardinals in our back yard almost everyday, and I still get excited. Okay, granted, they aren't dangerous or disruptive, but I'm a sucker for wildlife.
Ha! Yep, I see them every day. I mean every darn DAY. Unless, that is, I have relatives visiting from another state who want to see a moose. Then, there isn't a moose to be soon the entire TWO WEEKS that they are here. True story. Freaked me out. :)
BTW, cute pic. I still love moose pics.
I believe you deserve to have a pint of "Moosetracks" from B&J for all your troubles.
We feel that way about our white-tailed deer. A moose is bigger though, that probably makes it much more annoying.
