We went out to breakfast on Saturday morning to a local restaurant that's been here forever. I'm not sure how to describe it, other than to say it's very Alaskan. While I preferred a cup of coffee with my eggs and reindeer sausage, the couple at a nearby table washed down their toast and home fries with tall glasses of their favorite ale. Vive la diffèrence.
Hey, it's 5:00 somewhere.
Dinner last night: sweet mustard-glazed salmon fillets, rice

Kegs and eggs, maybe? Reindeer sausage sounds really... interesting.
Uh, yeah...beer with breakfast. Guess some people need to start their drinking early in the day.
The mustard glazed salmon sounds good!!!
I don't know what happened but I haven't been by in forever! I usually check blogs based on the Multiples and More blogroll, so I must just be missing your updates.
Yikes, beer for breakfast! Is reindeer sausage really made of reindeer? Please say no.
The only way I'd eat reindeer sausage is after a brew or two!
Reindeer sausage? Sounds interesting.
Holy cow, for breakfast? I thought it was state law that you had to eat salmon three meals a day. We make our own homemade sausage out of venison and we love it.
Maybe they were still partying from the night before?
Reindeer sausage...hmmm...it might be good, I am open to trying anything once.
I second Helene, the mustard glazed salmon sounds really good!
BLECH.
Oh, dear . . . I wasn't thinking when I admitted that we eat reindeer sausage (only occasionally, though!) It is a popular Alaskan breakfast food, BUT, let me say, that I've only ever eaten it at a restaurant—my husband doesn't hunt reindeer and I don't buy the sausage for our home.
The point was that people were drinking beer for breakfast. BEER!! FOR BREAKFAST!
