The Gift that Keeps On Giving

Two-year-olds enjoy unwrapping presents—the ripping of paper and the flinging of bows—more than playing with what's actually inside the package. Unless the gift happens to be a book. Then the two-year-olds make their mother read it to them over and over and over. And over. And over again.

Dinner last night: lasagna, steamed broccoli, garlic toast

Ooo.... what book? :D We read a lot here. My girls didn't quite double their library, but came pretty close.

Getting books here is bittersweet. Sweet because my kids also want it read a hundred and forty two times, Bitter because they never (mostly the 3 year old) let me finish and I *must* read it her way. page 3, then pg 7, pg 4, pg 1, etc.
Then she doesn't understand the story, and gets frustrated. So does mommy! Reading is suppose to be fun! ☺

(hey... You're posting on a Thursday!!)

Your girls are so cute...I just wanna squeeze them!!

My kids are the same way with books. They obsess on one and then I get stuck reading it over and over til the point that I wanna scream! But I just smile and say "okay, one more time" through gritted teeth!!!

I guess we should be happy that our kids love books so much but I'd love to read something other than "The Hungry Caterpillar"!

Ooh, they're so pretty in this picture! A lot of the pictures you post portray them slightly differently - i.e. The Donald's love child, or with their faces screwed up in a strange expression. LOL

Has your family been introduced to the Dumb Bunnies books? (Dav Pilkey)

Right now the twins are fixated on Goodnight Moon, and the older girls want a Little House chapter every night.
